Shruti Sharma topped the UPSC Civil Services 2021 final result, which was released on May 30, 2021, with 54.56 percent, while Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla came in second and third, respectively, according to the UPSC.

UPSC Civil Services 2021 results

The UPSC conducts the civil services examination in three parts – preliminary, main, and interview – every year to choose officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS), among others. The preliminary exam comprises of two objective type papers with a maximum score of 400 points each. This step is solely for the purpose of screening candidates. The written (or main) exam and the interview, however, are used to determine a student's ultimate merit. The latter is worth 275 points, while the written portion is worth 1,750 points, for a total of 2,025 points.

This year, a total of 685 students passed the UPSC CSE exam, with 508 men and 177 women among them. There are 244 candidates from the General category, 73 from the Economically Weaker Section, 203 from Other Backward Classes, 105 from Scheduled Castes, and 60 from Scheduled Tribes among the 685 qualifying candidates.

Sharma received a total of 1,105 points after scoring 932 in the written exam and 173 in the interview stage this year. The second-place finisher (AIR 2), Ankita Agarwal received 871 points in the written exam and 179 points in the interview phase, for a total of 1,050 points.
